What is burlesque?
The history of burlesque started in Europe in shows meant to parody and caricature more serious works. In the United States, this evolved into more sensual acts that still revel in the art form’s playful nature. Today we celebrate this history by leaning into the cheeky nature of the art through singing, dancing, comedy, sketches, parody and the allure of the sultry tease.
